Psychotherapist

(she/her)

I view the counseling process as forming an alliance with clients to explore the nature of their pain, trauma, and disconnection. Often it is in a relationship with others where we are harmed, but it is also in a relationship with God and others where we can find healing. The therapy relationship facilitates a healing conversation by providing a safe place to share your story, expand your capacity for self-compassion, deepen your emotional understanding, and experience freedom.

My role is to come alongside you to help uncover truths -- to help you understand your story, how you were shaped and informed by your family of origin, examine your relationships, how the past may continue to affect the present and set a path toward healing and discovery of your true self. I desire to help you experience the fullness of your emotional capacity to have satisfying intimate and social relationships, understand your emotional triggers, and increase your ability to engage in the uncertainties and unknowns of life. I find it an honor to walk alongside you on your journey.

I was born in Korea and moved with my parents to California when I was six. After college, I worked in the corporate environment for many years until I married my husband, who was serving in the Army. As a military family, we have been assigned to nine different duty stations, including a few overseas tours. I have been married for over 21 years, and we have two teenage children. As an Asian American, a military spouse, and a mother of two adopted children, I am familiar with cultural complexities, uncertainty, significant transitions, and many unique challenges. I also love discovering new places, eating great international food, and developing deep relationships.
