Psychotherapist

(she/her)

I believe you are a unique and beautiful combination of your intrinsic self, where you were born, to whom you were born, and the community factors that surrounded you. All these continue their influence in your current life. They can be part of incredible beauty and may also bring inextricable pain and barriers. I am here to help you untangle these realities and celebrate the victories in your story. I walk with you as a companion on the road to thriving.

I have an eclectic model of therapy that includes elements from these models: Relational, Narrative, Object Relations, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), some Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Multicultural influences. You, as the client, often influence which pieces of my training and experience I utilize most heavily for your sessions. That is to say, the specifics of what you need determines the manner in which we proceed.

You can expect to share a lot about yourself and your experiences, and receive my interaction around feelings and rules you’ve set for yourself, or have been dictated by others. Together we will explore how you came to be who you are with room to examine what is now holding you back, and also what is currently helping you thrive. I often assign homework as this helps explore ideas we’ve discussed in session.

I am a mom, friend, runner, cook, and burgeoning paddleboarder. I love people and relish helping others see their potential. I love big dreams, and hard work (sometimes). Gatherings with friends and meeting new people energizes me. I received my Masters in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology, simultaneously graduating with a Concentration in Trauma and Abuse. I have experience with intimate partner violence, especially as it relates to emotional and spiritual abuse. I also bring an understanding of the unique challenges of leaving cult and fundamentalist religious environments, particularly as it relates to reforming your mental frameworks and forming/reforming relationships.

I see couples, teens, young adults, mid-life, and the elderly.
