Counseling Resident

My goal is to help you better understand yourself and ultimately help you change your life for the better. For some, this might focus on bringing your actions into greater alignment with your values. For others, it might mean growing your capacity for love and self-acceptance. For everyone, it involves acknowledging and grieving our wounds and the disappointments inherent to human life.

I practice the art of psychotherapy from an eclectic perspective, primarily utilizing psychodynamic, humanistic, and existential perspectives. I believe that at our core, each of us has desires worth listening to and honoring. I work to help people uncover these deepest longings and values by exploring the painful feelings and wounds that separate us from them.

My work with couples is also informed by emotions focused therapy that seeks to help each person reveal themselves to the other and most importantly to better understand the dynamic they are cocreating.

Whether you are seeking out therapy to address a specific problem, or to better understand what it is that you want to change, I will work to create a safe relational space for you to discover how you make meaning, who you have been, and who you want to become.

Before training to become a therapist I received a Bachelor of Arts in History and worked as a small business owner in the hospitality industry for many years. I am currently finishing a Master of Arts in Psychology in the Existential Phenomenological Psychology Program at Seattle University and am a Counseling Resident at Shelterwood Collective, providing psychotherapy for both individuals and couples.
