Everyone needs support in sorting through their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors at various points in their lives. It takes time to understand how our formative years and our present circumstances have shaped our view of ourselves as well as our view of others and the world at large. I hope to provide an empathic space where you can explore your inner world, and in doing so discover new insights that will help you be kinder to yourself in the midst of life’s difficulties. In couple and family therapy, I will help you to identify which relationship patterns are leading to disconnection and then help you form a secure attachment to your loved one(s) so that you can communicate and solve problems effectively.
I received my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches depending on your unique needs including Emotion Focused, Narrative, Solution Focused, and Family Systems Therapies. I have advanced training in Emotion Focused Therapy, an evidenced based practice for individuals, couples, and families. I am also a certified Prepare and Enrich instructor, a modality frequently used for premarital counseling. Additionally, I have experience working at The Emily Program, an inpatient setting treating adults and adolescents struggling with eating disorders. For those who welcome it, I enjoy discussing how spirituality and faith traditions integrate with mental health.
