Kim Kuresman, LMFTA, ATR-P
Psychotherapist & Art Therapist
(she/her)
I believe everyone has the ability to grow and heal when they have access to the support that they need. My intention is to facilitate that safe and secure space for individuals, couples, and families. Helping another improve their quality of life is one of the most rewarding experiences. I am both honored and humbled to do this work.
My approach is person-centered and strength-based and I use trauma-informed practices. I view each individual and relational unit from a systemic framework, taking into consideration the broader context in which they exist. My work is primarily informed by emotionally-focused therapy (EFT), somatic practices, solutions-focused therapy, and internal family systems, but my practice is based on the individual needs of each client.
Having a background in art therapy, I have been witness to how creative expression can lead to a deeper self-understanding. I offer the option of art making in sessions to help reveal or gain access to the answers held within, especially when they are not easily articulated in words. All prior art experience is welcome; no art experience is necessary.
I received a Bachelors of Fine Arts and Teaching Licensure from the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP), as well as a Masters in Couples & Family Therapy and Art Therapy at Antioch University of Seattle.
