Psychotherapist

(she/her)

Often in difficult situations we tend to feel isolated. You might wonder why you struggle with anxiety or shut down during conflict, or have a hard time regulating your emotions. I believe that our bodies carry valuable information that helps us understand why we struggle with the things we do.

I am a cisgender woman of color and South Asian immigrant from India. These aspects of my identity influence my work as a therapist and how I show up in the world. I believe that our social contexts and family systems influence each one of us in many ways. In our work together, I hope to honor the journey that has brought you here and to support what liberation means for you. I aim to offer a non-judgemental, safe environment that we will create together to identify underlying patterns and explore helpful ways to navigate difficult situations.

My approach to therapy is relational, trauma informed and attachment-based. I am influenced by somatic therapy, Internal Family Systems, narrative therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I offer space during sessions to slow down by providing tools that support nervous system regulation and a sense of connectedness with oneself.

I hold a degree in Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School. My undergrad background is in mass communications and journalism, and I have professional experience in early childhood education settings. I engage in ongoing learning and seek regular consultation with a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in order to best support you. Outside of work, I enjoy long walks and hikes with the people I love, watching the sunset, cooking, reading or playing badminton.

Reaching out for support is such a vulnerable and courageous step, I applaud you for doing so.

It doesn’t belong to capitalism.
Love your body.

Move your body.
Hold your body.”
