Psychotherapist

Hi! I’m Kristy (she/her) - mom, partner, storyteller, healer, marriage and family therapist associate. This page is a snapshot of what you will get in the therapy room. I’m warm, inviting, I think sort of funny, and usually the opposite of distant. I want this page to help you decide if we’ll work well together, not just list what I’ve done (though you can check out my website for those things if you wish.)

What you probably want to know is…

  • Do I know what I’m doing?

  • What inspires me to work with clients around anxiety, trauma, family-of-origin issues, and couples concerns?

I love working with clients with these struggles because I’ve been there. It’s familiar. I get it. Anxiety is my daily struggle; sneak peek… there isn’t a cure, but there is a way to sit with it and sort of make it an uncomfortable friend. I know those pits of despair and uncertain feelings, and I know how to make them more manageable – but I wanted you to know that I’ve been there and believe in you to get through them.

My clients are the best people to work with; they are just sick of being unhappy and ready to make the needed changes. My clients are adult individuals 18+ and couples.

I am here with you and for you, and I might not agree with everything you say. I like to get in there with you and really focus on you. I'll call you on your stuff. We’ll probably talk about some painful things, and we’ll probably laugh some, too.

To answer the first question: Yes, I know what I'm doing. Being a therapist is my passion, and I’m so mad I didn’t find this career sooner. I love what I do, and I would like to think that I’m damn good at it plus, I constantly educate myself to continually grow for you. For theories, I use IFS, Somatic Experience, EFT, and Gottman.

I’m so excited to meet you and cannot wait to walk alongside you during this healing. I offer a free consultation if that interests you; please reach out!
