Psychotherapist

(she/her)

First and foremost, you are not a problem! Unfortunately, this is a message that many of us have heard time and time again. Unconsciously internalizing this message can leave us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just not good enough. I aim to assist in the process of healing from these internalized messages and empower clients to discover their own meaning about themselves, the world, and their lives.

I believe there is power in naming your problems as existing outside of yourself. My goal is to help you learn how to separate yourself from the problems affecting you, giving you the space to evaluate your concerns objectively. With this newfound understanding, you can start taking steps to reduce their impact on your life.

As a therapist, I strive to provide a friendly environment where clients feel relaxed enough to let their walls down and engage in honest conversations. I place great value on building a strong therapeutic relationship with each client and I will often revisit the integrity of this connection throughout the therapeutic process. I fully understand how hard it can be to discuss uncomfortable topics and how easily anxiety can negatively impact the therapeutic space. Therefore, I try to create an environment based on trust and safety with each client.

My Approach

My approach to therapy is integrative and client centered. I utilize elements of Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solutions Focused Therapy, Experiential Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy. Using a variety of treatment modalities allows me to tailor the therapeutic experience to each client’s needs. I am also committed to upholding an anti-oppressive environment by incorporating an Internalized Oppression framework into my practice.

My recent experience working with teens, adults and couples helped to foster a love working people seeking therapy for communication/ coping skill building, life transitions, developing community, family support, crisis management, grief and bereavement, suicidal ideation, self harm, and anxiety. I also have advanced training in Perinatal mental health and have a special passion for working with people throughout their perinatal journey including conception, pregnancy, and the postpartum time period.

Education and Professional Training

I received a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Antioch University and a  Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis in Multicultural Counseling and Women and Gender Studies from The Evergreen State College.
