Susannah Brister, MA, LMHCA
Psychotherapist
(she/her)
Every feeling in your body and mind has a story to tell about both your present and your past. Healing begins when we listen with compassion to those stories. I am committed to being a kind and honest partner in listening with you, making space to notice and be with the parts of you that have been longing to come forward.
Maybe you deal with anxiety, or identify as a highly sensitive person (HSP). Maybe you struggle to maintain boundaries, or to feel truly connected in relationships. Maybe you are navigating loss or loneliness, or even wondering who you truly are. Whatever you are facing, together we will gently explore which parts of you are asking for more care, and where you might have access to nourishment and resource. We will practice tools to help settle your nervous system and make challenging feelings less overwhelming. We will get curious about your inner world (including your feelings, your dreams, your creativity and imagination), strengthening your connection with your intuitive wisdom and sense of aliveness.
My work is trauma-informed and influenced by somatic therapy (helping calm your body so you have more space to address whatever is happening in the moment) and relational psychotherapy (practicing new ways of communicating and relating in therapy, as a sort of supported “rehearsal” or “lab experience” for life outside of the therapy room).
I hold an MA in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School and have studied somatic practices through a 60-hour Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy Certificate program with The Embody Lab. I encourage you to reach out for a free 15-minute call to see if we might be a good therapeutic fit. I look forward to connecting with you!

“The time will come
when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other’s welcome,
and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.”
