Psychotherapist

(she/her)

“Having compassion starts and ends with having compassion for all those unwanted parts of ourselves,
all those imperfections that we don’t even want to look at.” — Pema Chodron.

I have found having compassion for oneself is vital in the therapeutic process. It helps us step into painful emotional spaces and hold a deeper understanding of ourselves in a way that is empowering and healing. I hope to come alongside you in context of an authentic, safe and trusting relationship as you learn to navigate this process.

In my work I draw from both my professional training and my personal experiences as a South Asian woman and immigrant in the United States. These two identities help me understand and value the complexities we hold and how they shape us.

My therapeutic approach is designed around each person I work with and is influenced by intersectional feminism, multiculturalism and social justice framework. In those areas I utilize techniques from a variety of theoretical perspectives, including narrative therapy, relational psychodynamic therapy and somatic therapy.

I received a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counseling Associate in the state of Washington.

At Shelterwood Collective I specialize in working with individuals and couples from a trauma-informed len and intuitive posture. Individuals desiring support in any struggle are welcome.
