Psychotherapist

(she/her)

Hello and welcome! It's not easy being a human navigating complex systems and interruptions to our preferred narrative of life. Our agency can become overshadowed by biological, social, psychological, cultural, familial, and political expectations - leaving us feeling conflicted, fatigued, reactive, confused, and uncertain. Utilizing a unique combination of narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and polyvagal theory, I collaborate with clients age 13 and up, to identify how these expectations cause conflict and reconstruct experiences where the client can respond to life from a place of agency and Self.

I primarily focus on life transitions (for example: moving, leaving a job, gender transition, changes to family structure, etc.) issues with navigating religion/spirituality, and treating PTSD/C-PTSD. Within those contexts, areas of depression, anxiety, grief, loss, meaning making, family of origin, sense of Self, and relational dynamics are addressed.

Storytelling is an ancient form of healing - yet our stories are often overshadowed by dominant narratives. Your story matters, and being able to share and have your story witnessed, is the foundation for your healing. You are welcome to come settle, slow down and just be where you are right now.

I received my BA of psychology and my MA in couple and family therapy at Antioch University Seattle. Photography, painting, knitting, poetry, journaling, and short storytelling are my creative outlets, and I love to continue learning new techniques! I believe creativity is an innate part of the human experience and seek to integrate this into my work. I am also part of the amazing team that makes up Narratives of Pain - a grassroots organization that hosts events where people of the community can share their stories of pain to be lovingly witnessed and held by audience members without influence from dominant narratives.

Additionally, I am a Level One Gottman Certified Therapist and enjoy working with couples with communication, interrupting unhelpful patterns, and discovering the preferred story of their relationship.

Please reach out via email if you have any questions or would like to set up a free, 20 minute consultation to determine if counseling with me is the best fit for you. I look forward to hearing from you!

“ Nothing stays the same on this wondrous Mountain, not the time of day, not the seasons. Everything changes.”

“Why?” Asked Question Woman.

“Because without change we would forget that we are alive”.
