Jenn Frechette
Psychotherapist & Clinical Supervisor
I am a trained psychotherapist and received my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology. I offer psychotherapy to adults who are seeking recovery and healing from psychological and relational problems.
In addition to being a therapist, I also have a background in massage and craniosacral therapy, which means I take a holistic (or whole person-centered) approach to therapy. I believe the intellectual, emotional, physical, spiritual and relational components of wellness are interrelated and when one part suffers, the whole is affected as well. One primary facet of my therapeutic approach is a relational lens, which you may see emphasized on two distinct levels. First, I will want to understand more about your family-of-origin and relational history. Second, we will together, take the insight and awareness gained from your past and apply it to how it impacts your current struggles in the present. I believe our body holds and remembers our stories of both joy and pain. I do not offer bodywork to my clients, but I will pay attention to and inquire about what you are experiencing in your body in order to help you connect/reconnect your thoughts and feelings in an integrated way.
I receive on-going clinical training and consult regularly with other health care professionals to gain further knowledge and skill on how to better serve my clients. I am passionate about challenging myself to deepen and expand my knowledge as a professional and readily attend continuing education courses, trainings, and seminars. One distinctive component of my training is the emphasis on having the experience of being a client before becoming a therapist-I have greatly benefited from my own personal work and I know what it’s like to be in your shoes.
