Jessica Glover
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
(she/her)
I believe that growth and healing takes place in connection to others. The therapeutic relationship is one relationship and as a therapist, I work to support clients in strengthening and/or building interconnectedness as well as their connection to self. As a parent myself, I am particularly attuned to the experience of parents and families I support. My approach is warm and non-judgmental. I acknowledge that my clients know themselves best and strive to affirm each client’s/family’s culture and experience living in the world. I intend to create a space that is affirming of racial, gender, sexual, neurodivergent, and intersectional identities.
Life is marked by transitions, each one bringing its unique sets of skills to master and interpersonal challenges. We are shaped and impacted by our attachments and experiences. I want to support my clients individually, in relation to their family/community, and in the context of systemic oppression/trauma. I utilize evidence based and reflective methods to increase connection and wellbeing.
I have worked with kids, teens, young adults, families, and parents for 15 years in a community mental health setting, recently transitioning to private practice in 2023. I am intensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, ideal for supporting teens/young adults and their families. Additionally, I am certified in Parent Child Interaction Therapy and have training in Promoting First Relationships, both of which provide me with the foundation to support young children and their caregivers around attachment and regulation.Recently, I have begun training in Internal Family Systems which is ideal for supporting individuals, couples, and families in honoring each part within them and knowing their self.
