Psychotherapist

Hello, I am Nikki Scott. Whatever it is that brings you here, welcome.

It is through my own personal therapeutic journey that I have found a passion for helping others along their path. I hold a strong belief in the healing power of relationships; my experiences of being met with unconditional positive regard and truly seen by another have allowed me to meet myself similarly, with love and compassion. I believe that everyone deserves this kind of care and I am committed to giving as much of it as I can.

I also believe that we all yearn for connection to ourselves and to others. It is often the disconnection that keeps us stuck and searching. I desire to hold a loving and unconditional space for you to explore the specific ways in which you have become stuck and to find what brings you meaning, peace, and joy.

In my current practice, I take a trauma-informed, humanistic and experiential approach when assessing and treating individuals, adolescents, couples, and families. Humanistic and experiential models emphasize our inherent goodness and desire to be the best that we can be. They also hold a strong belief in our capacity for change. This is an approach I take because I wholeheartedly share those values. I also integrate other theories/modalities such as attachment theory, polyvagal theory, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), interpersonal neurobiology, and somatic theory. While I have a more natural inclination toward certain modalities over others, my theoretical approach is determined solely by the needs of each individual (or couple/family) client.

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA) in the state of Washington. I hold a Master of Arts in Couple and Family Therapy from Antioch University - Seattle and am a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT) as well as the Washington Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (WAMFT).

In addition to my passion for relationships and healing, I love to be in nature, to read and learn, to run, travel, and laugh.
